The mixing is mediocre, along with excessive eqing and flange in spots. The song selection, though, is the culmination of a few of years obsessed with electro, not helped by attending Felix Da Housecat’s birthday bash in Chicago at Crobar. Senom and I got to hang out in the DJ booth!

They have created a website with all kinds of details on the condo they are trying to sell.

The site has a very nice, simple, CSS-centered style. I especially like the digitally stitched picture of the living room on the front page!

I just saw The Fountain by Darren Aronofsky. I never saw Requiem for a Dream, but I did see Pi.

The most striking thing about The Fountain, I thought, was its narrative clarity. It takes a bit of thinking, but, as with movies I enjoy the most, with a bit of reflection, one sees it is internally consistent. In short, it is a story within a story; and the story within the story includes portions of the containing story.

The other thing that struck me about this movie was its central preoccupation with a significant philosophical claim. It presents an accompanying argument through a mixture of dialogue, imagery, and fantasy. I’’ll leave it to the reader to identify the claim and argument.

The Fountain is an ideal movie. It belongs to a very small percentage of big budget films that require, and reward, serious thought on the part of the viewer.

While I enjoyed Pi, I found The Fountain superior due to its greater clarity.

Like the much-loved Lunchbox Battles, this software makes sure that everything is correctly quantized to a preset loop.

Unlike Lunchbox, this Wii guy (Rolo) claims that by setting one loop to master, all other loops will be granulized to match. Since it’s mac only, I can’t test this.

If you do watch his video, count the times he says “wiimote”. And, yes, I did hear about this at Engadget.

It has all the hallmarks of a great YTMND: superimposition of images, an over the top movie clip, and hip hop beats. And it’s wicked funny.

After watching it a few times in Firefox, you may need to reload it to sync the audio and video.

Meredith’s thanksgiving party. Big up to Meredith and Joel for hosting
a great party with a great turkey.

If you want to create your own sugarfest, the recipe for the
marshmallow sweet potatoes can be found here.
